Want to get directions to your next destination quickly?

Use the “Google Directions” widget on iPhone to save time!

UPDATED FOR iOS 14.5.1 (May 5, 2021):

You can access your widgets by unlocking your iPhone then swiping right from your main home screen on iPhone.

To edit your widgets and customize what matters to you most, simply scroll all the way down, tap “Edit” then click scroll down to tap “Customize”.

Click the green “+” to add a widget and the red “-” to remove them.

It looks like the “Google Directions” widget is no longer available in iOS 14.5.1 but there are other ones that may be useful to you like the “Google Traffic”, “Google Transit Departures” and “Google Travel Times”.

The one you can use to temporarily replace the “Google Directions” widget is the “Google Traffic” which shows you the traffic in your area. By tapping on it, you’ll access Google Maps then you can simply search for your destination right there.

We’ve done some research and no words yet online if and when Google may bring back the “Google Directions” widget to iOS.

Have you tried it? What’s your favorite iPhone widget? Let us know in the comments below!

There is no option for Google Directions though. Google local guides, search, traffic, transit departures, travel times, and that’s it.
