Let’s face it, no one likes typing super long passwords every time they purchase an app, a movie or a song on iTunes, right?
Well, if you happen to be the lucky owner of an iPhone 5S (or later) or iPad Air 2, you can use Touch ID for that!
How to setup Touch ID
It’s easy!
Go to Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Add a Fingerprint and follow the steps carefully.
This will allow you to create your first fingerprint.
By the way, you can add more than one fingerprint to make your life easier and use Touch ID with more than just one single finger out of the 10 you have!
Activate Touch ID for iTunes & App Store
Go to Settings>Touch ID & Passcode and turn the option “iTunes & App Store” on.
This way, not only you can unlock your device with your finger but you can also approve purchases!
There are also more and more 3rd party apps that offer the use of Touch ID to unlock or purchase items.
I can’t live without it now!
Questions? Comments? Feel free to ask below, I’d be happy to help!
After enabling the option ‘iTunes & App Store’ in settings, you will be asked for Apple id password for the first purchase. After successfully installed with password authentication, next time, you will be asked with Face id.
Thanks a lot for your contribution Bala, we appreciate it!
If anyone else would like to contribute as well, feel free to add your comments or suggestions!
I want to Touch ID in App Store to buy apps
Hi Cayden,
Thank you for your question.
If your iPhone uses “Touch ID”, then you can go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > Turn Touch ID on or off for Passcode, iTunes & App Store, or Apple Pay.
We hope it helps!
